That's the book.  It's name comes from the disappearance of the original
Raleigh corporate enterprise colony at Roanoke Island in the americas;
The theory being that maybe they split because they didn't want to be a
part of it...

And I know this is by a Bey, and it is possible that it is the Hakim
that Dave mentioned.  This was all a long time agao when I wirked in that
hellhole of a prison and was eating amyltriptoline to keep my spirits up
and my lips and mouth numb, so I don't really recall if I ever decided it
was the one and the same Hakim or not.

Come to think of it, maybe in the introduction or prologue there was a
mention the author was from Indy-by-gawd-anna.
