Dave, I am afraid you are reading this man in a way too normal mode. I
*am* a politician and I *deal* with politicians, professionals, I had three
chats with the congressman from this district, which is safe and democratic
and he told me and he has told whole crowds that he cannot find a hoosier
who supports the war, and then he votes for it. Why? Because in the
slash and burn politics of the last decade being on the worng side of an
issue that wins is a surefire way to lose the seat. If the local c-person
votes no and the war is a winner, he'll never survive the next onslaught of
red-scare type negative ads. AND THIS FRIGHT OF THE FUTURE IS SHOWN WHILE
THE C-PERSON CURRENTLY CLAIMS 100% BACKING FOR BEING ANTI-WAR.

No one here from either major party can figure this rush to war out. I
can game it out from all angles and I see no positives in two years for
George W., even when I play a republican supporter. The POTUS truly is
off on a hell-bent attempt to validate his daddy's failure. Georgell
really seems driven by the attempt Saddam made on his dad's life. We do
not send the 4th Mechanzed Dvision, the 3rd Mechanized division, the 1st
Infantry Division and the 101st Airborne, along with a 30,000 man and woman
Marine force, plus 5 aircraft carriers and several hundred of our Big Boy
Bombers over to the mid-east to get called back. The bad politics here is
clear; "Spend 4 billion bucks getting assets in place and then *don't* use
them?" Not even the lobotomized american electorate will excuse that even
if Saddam steps down and has himself decapitated. You just don't blow 4
billion on TV and not have a war to show for it.

Now of course the anarchists, the leftists, and the black blocs can raise
holy hell while it is going on, but they ain't stopping anything. The
only thing that will stop this is blood. There has not been anything this
screwy in american history; it simply has not happened where a US President
decides to go to war against the wishes of _everyone_. The politicians are
afraid to stop him because they fear that infinitesimally little bit of the
story that may be The Truth. This fear makes them say weird stuff like
Daschle and Kerry have been saying lately--that we have to give the
inspectors more time but we must support the president.

And after Iraq, take your pick: North Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan--any of
the stans for that matter--and never forget we will have Iran in a
strategic vise, Afghanistan to the east, Iraq to the west. There is a lot
of Reagan/Bush Payback loaded on BushII's Shit-Train, and that sucker is on
a long and steep-graded downhill run. There is no stopping it, and
caution is advised to any who stand in front of it.
