No one takes themselves more, or less, >seriously than do american anarchists and anti-authoritarians. I am an American. I have the unique perspective of living in the richest country in the world. We consume absurd amounts of every possible resource, much more than we could possibly need. There are over 200 millions cars on the road in America...and there are somewhere around 300 million people. Yet amidst all this "wealth" are the stunning realities: the average net savings of the American citizen is negative. A great proportion of Americans cannot afford simple health insurance. We are a segmented, individuated, isolated, lonely people. All of our food comes in boxes and plastic wrappers. Our "Culture" is made in a studio and sold to us with Advertisements glorifying the American way of life. It's a strange disease, one that has been growing steadily worse for decades. We are stagnant, rotting, and unhappy. All in all, I would laugh, but irony is dead, and every good American knows it.
