I did no such thing!

I didn't think your joke was funny, but I have no objection
in principle to intentionally misinterpreting for the sake 
of humor. I just wanted to carry on with the serious point 
I was making  _regardless_  of your attempt at humor. 
Naturally, the same course of action is open to Bart, 
if he wants to follow my rather foolish example.

As a matter of fact, when I make a joke, I do so
just because I am feeling light-hearted, and for
no other reason. Certainly not because somebody 
is "criticising" me. Immediately after making
that particular remark, I answered more seriously
