If we make a survey for the poorest most miseable person
there is in the industralised world, we could still find
millions of people from the rest of the world more than
willing to take his place. That's why there are so many
people trying to cross the Rio Grande, cross the Gibraltar
strait etc, to have a chance to dip their snouts too into
the oil tray. So, so much for sympathy. ;) Anyone is rich,
or poor, compared to someone else. I can feel subjective
sympathy for someone having a worse life than myself, and
subjectively envy someone else who is having a better life
than me. Is there an objective way to tell if someone is
being screwed? What is a fair pay? Noone would, I think,
deny that everyone has the right to what he himself
produces with his own body. The payment for work cannot be
less than that, or the worker is clearly being exploited.
The problem is that in our world, this amount of work is
very small, compared to the work (human or machine)
necessary to produce the goods the worker can get for his
payment. A lot of it is work extracted from exergy in oil.
So if I demand more than I put in as labour, I'm either
exploiting another human, or I am exploiting some external
energy source. That isn't automatically a bad moral --
sunlight is a free energy source, for anyone to take. I
would be surprised if someone rushed out from behind a bush
and yelled "thief!" at me, when I harvest potatoes I
planted myself in my garden. It's not stolen from another
human anyway. Who does oil belong to in the first place?
Whoever finds it? The ones living on top of it? Everyone
having an equal share of it? Free for the take?

Why the fuck do all the people try to cling to ownership.
Even if that is a collective one it's still an ownership,
damn it.
I'm sorry for all the vulgarities, but i just don't
understand that mindset.
