Okay, so bacteria or some other very small organisms 
may have been able to survive where the actual glaciers
were. But the main point I was making still stands.
So far as the bigger types of critter that we think
of as being "Ice Age" animals are concerned, they
all lived in the regions further  _south_  than
the glaciers.
