Why are such jokes being said about the French just now by right-wing papers (and its the case over here as well)? Simply to attack those whom have displeased the people in charge. Its not a coincidence. The obvious implication is that "real" Americans or Brits side with their rulers and mock those whom they mock. <snip> > It is true I bash the French. It does when there is obviously a media attack on these groups for daring to question the decisions of the US ruling class and their poodles. > Not a bit. No one takes it seriously. Yes, all that anti-immigrant stuff, no one takes it seriously... except, of course, some do. And seeing the evils of bigotry first hand in Glasgow I know that "its a joke" is usually a weak excuse for doing something you know is wrong. > To try to remove or discourage friendly banter from life because it runs > afoul of accepted anarchist doctrine is a good way to have a very boring > revolution. Perhaps dancing is next? Opps, here I am undermining freedom by simply expressing an opinion on the matter. And I'm sorry that Carp feels that he is unable to come up with good jokes which do not involve putting others down :) But feel free to have your "friendly banter" and I'll be free to think that you are capable of so much better and its a shame that you don't rise to your full potential... Iain: Kill joy of the day... :)
