I'm not always so serious, Erik. Generally speaking, I think
there should be a healthy balance between being serious
and being humorous. Always being dead serious is unhealthy,
and always refusing to be serious is equally unhealthy.
As to how you strike that "healthy balance", well, it varies.
At present, for instance, it would be a good thing if there
could be some serious discussion about international opposition
to war. Now, I am certainly not saying that's the  _only_
thing we should be talking about, and I am certainly not
saying that there is anything wrong with mixing humour
in with your opposition to war. But it seems to me that,
at present, some people are being frivolous as a means
of  _avoiding_  this subject. And that is unhealthy.
