Since 9/11, even though I suspect a lot of people are in denial, there appears a broadening schism on this list. 
Although Carp did propose that this list did always have an American slant, I think the space has grown wider between 
'us and them' as evidenced by the growing number of posts directed at 'them'. In the future, anybody not wanting to take the piss out of another's nationality, can write me and tell me how life is getting on post--AT--list by writing coull1-AT-btinternet.com. 
Maybe I've changed, but somehow I feel alienated from a list
I was sure would _never_ get this way.
