The woman who had been there two hours presumably considered this an important thing to do and had presumably committed herself to doing this. I assume this was also true of Heather. Keri and myself had made no such commitment. We have taken part in dozens of other anti-war demonstrations and activities in and around Dundee over the last few months, yet we have never seen Heather at any of them. So far as this particular activity, the "peace bus", is concerned, we just didn't consider it very important, and that is why we had not volunteered to help with this event. But we happened to be in town anyway, and we happened to see the "peace bus" anyway, and we happened to stop by out of curiosity to find out what, if anything, was happening. To put it another way, we just happened to be there, as passers-by who were potential "customers" rather than as volunteer "sales staff". As it happens, we did both sign one of the "pledges" to take direct action in the event of an attack on Iraq. And having done that, there was no further reason for us to stay. Now, presumably that was the whole _point_ of having the "peace bus" in the City Square. Presumably the "peace bus" was supposed to attract the attention of passers-by who would be curious to find out more about what was going on. Presumably some other members of the general public besides myself and Keri did in fact stop by out of curiosity to find out what was happening. And presumably some of them only stopped by for a few minutes. So, Heather, do you condemn ALL of the passers-by or members of the general public who only stopped by for a few minutes - or just us?
