I'm very encouraged by the huge antiwar movement, but I think that many people aren't being honest with themselves about how hard this really is. I don't buy into the argument that most peace activists are being realistic about the outcome of our activism.

Things may seem dire, but their is some cause for optimism. Who ever thought
that slightly more than one year after 9-11 that the world would stand united
against George Bush? Who would have thought that the American people would be
evenly divided about going to war? Capitalism isn't looking so hot these days
and even the capitalists are talking about being socially responsible. On the
anarchist front, more and more folks are becoming anarchists and we've really
shown people in recent years what anarchism is all about.

"The state can't give you free speech, and the state can't take it away.
You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you
assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which
you resist is the degree to which you are free..."
