The "fragging" incident in Kuwait is in keeping with a long-lived military tradition of offing officers over grievances. Many a freshly-minted 2nd-looie in Vietnam found a hand grenade rolled into his quarters (there were something on the order of 400 fraggings in Vietnam just between 1969 and 1971, I've heard). Expect more in Iraq as this stretches out and more reservists are pulled into combat situations. The only reason this is getting so much attention is because it happened right under journalists' noses. I've been watching War TV here today; I have to agree with Al Jezeera when they justified showing the US POWs and dead in Iraqi custody based on how the US paraded Taliban POWs in front of the camera and packed them off to Camp X-Ray. So, can anybody who saw Dubya's gaffe as he was getting primped the other night on the feed to the UK give me a summary of the gas mask joke? I've only heard rumors. **** Sean Gallagher http://www.buzzword-compliant.com/dotcommunist/ sean-AT-dendro.com
