Subject: question for u$ citizens

On belgian television our foreign correspondent in Washington DC said that big U$ tv stations didn't broadcast video of american pow's and killed soldiers (apart from CBS). Only some video stills. And all this because the u$ military asked not to broadcast those images (preventive censorism). Is this true ?

Did they show the wounded u$ soldiers arriving by plain in Rammstein, Germany ?

Did they show the Syrian tourists killed whilst getting out of Iraq in a bus ?

Are people in the u$ aware that in lots of other countries there is much critique on this "embedded" journalism ?

I can watch CNN and BBC world via belgian cable, and i can visit websites of all kinds of media worldwide, but i would like to know how people in the u$ feel about tv-coverage, in their own country, of this war.

Erik

PS. i just went down to warm a bottle of milk for my youngest and zapped tv. CNN had an item about war and journalism: As an inited "expert" David Margulies was defending the position that thanks to the "impartial" journalism by allied journalists under army control people could get at least fair reporting of the events instead of being misguided by all those foreign journalists with an hidden agenda.
