I would be wary of letting our enemies do our defining for us!
Particularly
when, as with Engels, his comments were not exactly accurate. Anarchists
aim to abolish state and capital *at the same time,* not one after the 
other. Even from an individualist anarchist viewpoint, the state would
be
attacked along with capitalist property rights and the reforming of one
would go hand in hand with the other. 

but you are right about Engels revising the Marxist position somewhat, 
and, as usual, without acknowledgement!
