From: "Dave Coull" <coull2-AT-btinternet.com> Subject: RE: the left and anarchism Date: Tue, 20 Jan 2004 10:20:03 -0000 I think Matt intended this message for the list, and not just for me. Matt, with the anarchy-list, if you just hit "reply" when responding to something on the list, then your message will only go to one particular person, and not to the list as a whole. ******************************************************** -----Original Message----- From: coweatman-AT-riseup.net [mailto:coweatman-AT-riseup.net] Sent: 20 January 2004 07:04 To: Dave Coull Subject: the left and anarchism after recently having to deal with the ISO showing up at an anti-authoritarian, anti-dnc meeting, i've given this issue a little more thought. i'm an anarchist. i don't identify as a leftist. i get sort of upset when other people try to pin that label on me. however, my political interests often intersect those of people on the left, and much more often than they intersect those of people on the right. matt ********************************************************************** I don't identify myself as a "leftist" either, Matt. In my experience, on this side of the Atlantic anyway, the only people who are ever likely to use this term are people who are themselves fairly obviously on the "right" of politics. It tends to be used as a term of abuse, more or less. But as you say "however, my political interests often intersect those of people on the left, and much more often than they intersect those of people on the right". Dave C
