it's true, the prospect of being a comfortable Gentleman Farmer (sitting on the porch sipping mint julips and listening to the field hands sing their charming spirituals) has given me a whole new perspective on this property thing . . . maybe i've been all wet on the subject. . .

but, alas, it appears my new found wealth is as transitory as it was unexpected.  they may have already discovered that the real owner (and what do we really mean by 'ownership' anyway) of the produce is still alive and kicking and ain't me.  sigh.

still, i'll always remember my sojourn into commodity trading.  it was a heady, exciting, even exhilirating ride.  the ups the downs, the uncertainty.  so that's what capitalism is all about . . .
