Well Toynbee said that shit happens in cycles.
Religious mania and intolerance has swept in before
and like the tide will recede in 10 - 20 years, we are
just unlucky to catch the beginning of the wave. 

also global media is messing the cycles. Like women
working in close quarters have their menstrual cycles
synchronize, all the countries around the world seem
to be marching in lockstep.

So, no where to escape to.
