I agree that a vote is the only way to resolve the proposal to exclude Karl

I felt for a long time something similar to Bob -

a) it's not too difficult to hit the delete button, as more and more people
apparently do whenever a 'KARL CARLILE message' appears, and

b) his postings (which I have found to be more commonly spiteful and petty
than 'worthy of comment'), are not the main reason for the malaise of
discussion on the list.

I for one am now sick of hitting the delete button with such regularity. At
the same time, since there are more important things to do, such as
returning to some extended discussion of the real world, I don't think we
should wait too long to resolve this - perhaps a week or two for everyone
who has an opinion on the matter to express it and cast their vote.

But then, since Karl feels that 'it does not matter much to me whether I am
on or not on this list since it of so little value', he could simply
unsubscribe himself and save everyone else the waste of time involved in
talking any further about him.
