INDIA-AIR-STRIKE >>Strike<< disrupts Indian domestic flights

BOMBAY, April 11 (Reuter) - A nationwide >>strike<< by air traffic
controllers disrupted domestic flights on Friday, an official of the
Airports Authority of India said.

He said the >>strike<< began before noon.

He said international flights have been largely unaffected so far, noting
most international flights take off at night.

`The >>strike<< is continuing. Flights have been disrupted badly,'' said a
spokesman for state-run Indian Airlines.

Air traffic controllers were not immediately available for comment.

The Press Trust of India news agency said the >>strike<< was to protest
against the suspension of an air traffic controller in New Delhi airport.
