Subject: Support occupation at Melbourne University


A rally began at 1pm today (Friday 9 May) at Melbourne University outside
the administration building, which was occupied by 170 students late
yesterday afternoon at the end of demonstrations against the introduction
of up-front fees.

Power and phones have been cut off, and police have denied the students
access to toilets and food.

Nonetheless, spirits are said to be high amongst those in the admin building.
