Many of their workers are ruled by "minimum wage contracts" (you can guess what that means), if they even know that they are in a union at all (often the initials "UFCW" on a paycheck are the only indication that you are in the union). Meanwhile, the UFCW union bosses are some of the richest around, flying about in private jets and driving around in fancy cars. The UFCW also "raids" (that is, attempts to undermine other unions in a unionized workplace by 'converting' the workers to another union; the US has a strict one union per workplace law) such strong unions as the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW/Wobblies).
