Plenary of the table Fight against the Patriarcado of Barcelona

PLENARY OF
THE TUESDAY 29 OF JULY

In the afternoon of yesterday I agree that
themselves empezaria by
constituting diverse working parties so that the
women could be presented
and intercambiar their experiences. In the
plenary one of the mediodia
them were presented you fear treaties and some
proposed that left of the
six groups of the ma=DFana.

First group

The
autonomia of the women.

It is necessary that all the women can agree to
it takes of decisions but
tambien is necessary to have the tools and the
resources to do it. It is
important for all the women to agree to the
independence but at the
moment of taking it internal conflicts in the
routine life appear. The
other they have attitudes that are a trampa and
in front of the ones that
a very firm attitude should be maintained.

The
women cannot continue being the mamas, only we should be autonomas
and they
aprendreran.

It was seen necessary to work the I finish autonomia for
vaer the
strategies in each pais. The women indigenas of Mexico expose
that in
its case the women cannot agree to the studies and when they
seek
strategies to obtain its independence economica the market is impeded
it,
in this concrete case, the consumption.

It is done important to
differentiate the autonomia cultural collective
of the independence of the
women.

In this aspect the women indigenas commented that for them is
very
important the defense of the territory as representacion of
the
independenia cultural collective. It is important that projects
of
development be done but tambien the autonomia facing the children,
the
compa=DFeros... although we form part of a concrete society.

It was
seen tambien very important the job with the youths.

I try itself the
problem of the autonomia emotional. Themselves comment
that although the
women of Europe are emancipated tambien they are found
with the emotional
dependence. Itself definio emotional dependence as
being depressed by the
affection of a man or a woman, signifies to be
willing to lose the liberty
by the affection of a person.

I am emphasized the importance of the
existence of networks to not fall
in states of solitude and as strategy to
unite the diversities of fights
by the autonomia. The problem of the
autonomia is not alone economico.
When we are autonomas tambien we feel
the fault and the dependence.

As first conclusion the group saw that the
dependence is economica and
emotional and that comes given by the
Neoliberalismo.

Three they were presented proposed like alternative:

-
to require free time for all the women of the world;

- to require spaces
to be meetings;

- To require money and resources for the women and
received alone by the
men until now. Of women to women, of organizacion to
organizacion but
that the money contributed by the women that be for the
women;

- It is necessary to have comunicacion and to create forms to be
able to
be communicateed.

The persons that handle Internet are, in their
mayoria, men.

I am spoken tambien that for the women indigenas has been
very important
to obtain the independence.

For the women migrantes is
important to have the aid of the law but the
law is, at the same time a
trampa of the patriarcado.

It is important that all the fights be
followed in all the pa=CCses.
During the month of August tendra place in
Mexico

........................................

To all the women
zapatistas, bases of support, military, insurgent, TO
all our sisters
indigenas of Chiapas and of every Mexico,

Our hearts unite to greet them
to all!

Today, 30 of July of 1997, are gathered in the table against
the
patriarcado of the second encounter intercontinental against
the
neoliberalismo and by the humanity, in Barcelona and Madrid,
rebellious
corners of the State one Espa=DFol.

We have found us 200 women
with very diverse experiences of fight. We
unite women with very different
histories of life: women of the field and
of the city, south and north,
young and greater, women that inhabit you
are used to, with its families or
of collective form with friends and
friends, women that relate to men and
women that relate to women,
students, unemployed, industrious, housewives
of house, artists. We have
come from Italy, State Espa=DFol, Euskadi,
Catalu=DFa, France, Alema=DFa,
Austria, Greece, Sweden, Belgica, Swiss,
Denmark, Mexico, Costa Rica,
Peru, Colombia, United States, Quebec,
Turquia, Senegal.

We have been working, platicando, sharing our thoughts
and experiences
upon as to the women affects us daily the patriarcado and
the
neoliberalismo. Among many other themes, have spoken of:

- Racismo -
migracion - health and sexuality - mundializacion of the
neoliberalismo -
movement feminista - patriarcado (machismo in the
family, in our
organizations, our nations and countries) - autonomia -
free decision upon
our bodies and our lives - lesbianismo - job,
explotacion and poverty of
the women.

The patriarcado and our fights began a great deal time ago
atras and not
they finish with this encounter. We know and we admire a
great deal its
you fight like women zapatistas. Its example of dignity has
given us
strength. We expect that our resistances encourage them you
tambien. We
are not you are used to! They are not you are used to! Our
road and
that of you they have begun to flow. Asi as you, want to change
this
world. Of course that this means tambien to change the routine life
of
the women in the house, in the community, in the organizations.

Already it suffices of misery and explotacion! Already it suffices
of
the bad governments! Already it suffices of pisotear the corazon of
the
women! Already it suffices of suffering and of sadness!

We want a
world where they fit all the worlds, without misery, without
hunger,
without borders, without racismo, without explotacion, without
machismo,
without violence, without war. So=DFamos with a world where the
thoughts and
the word of all and all be taken into account. A world
where there be time
to rest, reirnos, to share the party, the alegria,
and time to build a new
world.

They live all our fights!

Alive the hope!

Alive the world
that build all meetings!

TABLE AGAINST THE PATRIARCADO OF THE SECOND
ENCOUNTER AGAINST THE
NEOLIBERALISMO AND BY THE HUMANITY.

P.D. : Aqui
tambien send them some materials that there are facts in our
different
groups, so that they know them. We expect news of you! Luck
and until
then! ........................................

Shop from
networks

Women of several networks were presents in the discusion.
National
networks tematicas and global.

Anivel of objectivos share the
impresion that the job to level of
networks remained but facil and but
clear with networks that they carry a
tematica precise (they be national or
international) taking for example:
networks of autodefensa, of middles of
comunicacion, etc. ..pero that
even existia the need to work with themes
and actions but extensive and
general.

Various objectivos were
emphasized of the discusion:

-The networks should work to local level and
intercambiar experiences and
concrete fights to international level

-To do
to circulate debates upon women, neoliberalismo, patriarcado.
..Hemos seen
the need of intercambiar reflections and analisis with the
proposito of
desarollar common strategies (ex: Network of women
feministas and
lesbianas, Network intergalactica. ...)

-The networks are utiles to
advance to levels of feminism, lesbianismo,
popular movements, etc. ..pero
is a job of very long time limit that
barely this being born. One must
follow in the process and to be
consequent: there was you criticize upon
the difficulty of going but
ahead in the concrete thing upon leaving of the
meetings and encounters.

-------------------------.

It is commented
of the 2 encounter that was dificil to debate because as
table of women
against the patriarcado we touched all the themes in the
same time, when
the demas tables touched alone a theme.

In this sense is precise
respectar the phases of reflexion and of job of
way to arrive well prepared
and to try to be able to elaborate questions
that can help to desarollar
the debate.

Several women were encouraged in organisar an Encounter of
women
feministas and lesbianas as soon as we are lists, that is to say
in
indeterminate dates. The proposal was done to debate and to reflect,
but
tambien was proposed to carry out in the course of this encounter
actions
of visibilidad and of protest. Certain women say that one must
have care
with the organizacion of these event, since the risk exists that
the time
by the local job remove us.

Finally it is proposed to write a
declaracion that could be read in The
Indiano.

........................................

PROPOSAL OF THE WOMEN
BERLINESAS TO THE TABLE 4

To the women of table 4 in Barcelona

The fight
of the/the Zapatistas, but above all of the Zapatistas, I
inspire us a
great deal, gave us a great deal I encourage and a great
deal forces. The
constant one represion, the continuous threat of the
soldiers, the refusal
of the Mexican government of recognizing the
agreements of San Andres upon
the rights of the poblacion indigena of the
February of the =E796 and the
cruel play of being able of the different
groups politicos and
paramilitares of the State of Chiapas they
constitute a constant threat for
the life of the poblacion indigena and
for it fights by aWorthy life. They
are the women the ones that suffer
but by the consequences psiquicas and
fisicas. The constant fear of
military attacks, violations, hunger and
illnesses little space leaves
them for its fights by a life
autodeterminada.

We think:

- That our aid solidaria is urgently
necessary so that the women can
follow the process of autodeterminacion,
the busqueda and fights it by a
life autodeterminada.

-Publishing
articulos and sending letters of protest to organizations and
especially
Mexican, international, and national governments we can
contribute to
create a zone of proteccion exterior.

- For many women in Mexico, the
recognition and the support solidario of
the entire world can signify that
they, feeling that no longer we are but
you are used to, they gain a new
strength and the courage to follow
fighting: not only against the state
power but tambien against the own
one situacion of life in their
communities.

- we want to do to see that we in our fights by a life
autodeterminada to
refer us to the/the pe. in saying not to it fights by
the power, not to
the jerarqu=CCas, not to the structures patriarcales and we
require new
forms of organizacion that the process of
autodeterminacion
autoorganizacion include to minorias and marginados
tambien, and that we
fill the word "dignity" with our proprioContents
again..

Therefore we propose:

actions in the first week of September
1997

1.) manifestaciones (pe. before the Mexican consulates), placards
in
places publicos, publicity with placates, theater, actas with
discussions
etc.

2.) letters of protest to - the corresponding
governments - the Mexican
consulates - to the Mexican government - to the
Department of Interior
Mexican - to the international and national
press

3. letters of solidarity to - the Zapatistas - as open letters to
the
periodicos The Journey and The time with the documentacion of
our
actions.

4. you drive of A GREAT DEAL of fantas=CCa (!), expositions
of art/fotos
ect.

We think that is important of we will inform the some
to the other upon
our actions. The women berlinesas are willing to send
all the
informacion, material and summaries to "The Journey" and "The
time".
Tambien have written a convocatoria that you podian to use like
point of
departure for their own job, but that they are able tambien to
amplify,
to change, or to leave it completely - as quieran.

Convocatoria

The first one of January of 1997 [1994] enter vigor the
tried Free
Commerce among United States, Canada and Mexico. In being
incorporated
to the TCL, Mexico as "pais in Transicion", I try to be done
rich north
part. The conditions that went taxes to Mexico in entering to
the
"Club", they signify for the poblacion:

-Unemployment in mass -a cup
of inflacion enormous of but of a 50%
-analfabetismo -lack of educacion
etc.

Caused by the impositions of the FMI and BM. As the half the
poblacion
Mexican lives in poverty at the moment, that are some 42 million.
 18
million they live in extreme conditions of poverty. Better
said:
"ALREADY is known who they are the perdedores of the crisis. The
sue=DFo
neoliberal of leaving him to grow to the pastel until remains for
which
but that alone a migaja, becomes a malsue=DFo."

At the same time to
the entrance to the TCL begin the levantamiento
assembled zapatista in the
South of Mexico. " We Are the product of 500
a=DFos of fight. They deny us
the educacion but elementary to be able to
be able to utilize us like meat
of ca=DFon and to be able to exploit the
wealth of our ground, without
interests that we do not have anything,
absolutely swims, neither a worthy
house, neither ground, neither job,
neither health, neither food, ...ni
even the right of electing free - and
democraticamente to our
representatives, neither independence of
theForeign, neither peace neither
justice for us and for our children."

The levantamiento tenia by
objective does not take it of the power but
the destruccion of the centers
of the power. The zapatistas represent a
new one consciencia politica,
that this in busqueda of a culture
politica. Of them the impulse leaves
for the construccion of a movement
of oposicion extensive, national and
international, whose link this in
common refusal of the program neoliberal
of modernizacion that affects to
all the plans of the life.

The party
gubernamental PRI, that is maintained in the power for almost
70 a=DFos by
the electoral fraud, murders politicos, and structures
organisativas seemed
to the mafia, I enter mediaciones with the
Zapatistas for showed tolerante
and democratico before the Mexican town.
However, themselves express their
ignorance increible facing the
oposicion in the pais in their refusal of
recognizing the agreements upon
"Right and Culture Indigena " that already
they signed in February of the
1996. The powerful they want of no form
that the right be carried out to
autonomia of the indigenas that I agree
ahi
