Are we now using this list [encounter2} to discuss our efforts to set up an alternative network? As we decided in the in Barcelona? (Culture-Information Sub-Table (3a), third group) And for all those out there, will you start writing impressions and reports from the Encuentro? We should immediately start, methinks. Where are all the documents being posted to? And for all those that couldn't come but who were with us - it was great in Spain, but there is a lot of work to be done now. We have barely started. Jump in. Last, a piece of info I have to report. On the last night of the Encuentro, as we were walking back from El Indiano, which is a 300 hectare land occupied by peasants - the land of the dignified peasants as they call the place- we got The Sign. We were walking in pitch darkness, the nearest town was 2km away from the occupied land. We were tired, happy and hopeful. People were singing and humming songs of rebellion in various languages. Free from civilized lights, we could see all the thousands of stars in the very clearly. Then we saw an insurgent shooting star in the night sky, saluting the end of the Encuentro. Everyone cheered and jumped and hugged and kissed and sung. Many many wishes were made right there. It was pleasant to think that we could wish that everybody got their wish, as it has become one of our slogans to say that we are fighting for a world in which many worlds can fit. All my friends in Turkey who heard about the insurgent shooting star agreed that it must have been The Sign - the sign that it is time we got the International of Hope up and running. Saludos and selamlar from Istanbul, Zeynep --- from list aut-op-sy-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
