TRISTE NAVIDAD PARA NOSOTROS

AL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPUBLICA
AL PUEBLO DE MEXICO
A LA SOLIDARIDAD NACIONAL E INTERNACIONAL

Nosotros la sociedad civil Las Abejas del pueblo de Chenalho, Chiapas,
denunciamos los hechos ocurridos el dia de ayer 22 de diciembre de este mes
y a~o 97, cuando nosotros nos encontramos haciendo oraciones adorando y
pidiendo a dios que se calmara los problemas que se ha venido dando desde
hace meses en nuestro pueblo, nosotros somos de la sociedad civil que
buscamos la paz y la tranquilidad.

Nosotros siempre hemos manifestado en contra de utilizar las armas. Sin
embargo en ese dia fuimos masacrados sin piedad a manos de las asesinos
priistas. Que hemos hecho nosotros para que nuestras mujeres, nuestros ni~os
y los hombres se han muerto. Que ha hecho los ni~os que han sido masacrado
con las armas de alta poder?  Nosotros de la sociedad civil de Las Abejas
exigimos la encarcelacion a una cadena perpetua a todos los asesinos, que el
gobierno no se haga de ciego de pronunciar que en Chiapas no hay guerra de
baja intensidad. Que las autoridades castiguen a las autoridades intelectuales.

Si el gobierno tiene tanto miedo de perder el poder, que lo mantenga
limpiamente. No a traves de paramilitarizar y formar escuadrones de la
muerte, si tantas ganas tienen los asesinos, que se enfrente con quien
realmente pueden defenderse.

Nosotros la sociedad civil, que solamente buscamos la justicia y la paz
somos un grupo de gente que de cinco a~os lucha como sociedad civil
organizada. Nosotros no usamos arma, pero nos matan con arma.

A los autores intelectuales exigimos la destitucion de los siguientes
personajes implicados directa e indirectamente del masacre: 

1. Julio Cesar Ruiz Ferro, gobernador impuesto del estado, actua
indirectamente en el masacre de los inocentes en el estado, porque no ha
escuchado nuestras demandas. Pedimos que se castigue y se mete en la carcel,
porque no es posible, que tengamos tantos muertos, del Norte, Los Altos, la
Costa y todo el estado de Chiapas.

2. Jacinto Arias Cruz presidente municipal sustituto de Chenalho, Chiapas y
su ayuntamiento, que sus actividades es transportar arma, que a su vez es
apoyar y pagar a los guardias blancas; por lo tanto exigimos la destitucion
y castigo como pueblo de Chenalho.

3. Como pueblo pedimos que se castiga a Uriel Jarquin que es el
Subsecretario del Gobierno, porque es quien dirige los operativos de policia
que mata a nosotros los indigenas.

4. Que se mete en la carcel al Secretario de Gobeirno, Homero Tovilla
Cristiani, porque de el depende la policia que entrena y apoya a los
paramilitares.

La mera mata de los asesinos priistas y cardenistas que se encuentra en las
comunidades de Los Chorros, La Esperanza, K=B4anolal y Tzanembolom, Chimix,
Acteal, y Colonia Puebla, todos del municipio de Chenalho, Chiapas.

En la comunidad de Los Chorros existe un campamento de entrenamiento para
exterminar a la Sociedad Civil, ni~os, mujeres y hombres, al EZLN del
Municipio Autonomo de Polho.

TODOS TENEMOS QUE PEDIR JUSTICIA AHORA, SI NO MAS TARDE LO VAN A HACER MAS
DURO. YA BASTA DE MUERTE, POBREZA Y REPRESION.

CASTIGO A JULIO CESAR RUIZ FERRO, URIEL JARQUIN Y HOMERO TOVILLA CRISTAINI,
POR ESO PEDIMOS EL APOYO DE TODO EL MUNDO; SI NO, ES VERGUENZA PARA MEXICO
TENER ASESINOS DE GOBIERNO. CREEMOS QUE ESO YA NO DEBEMOS PERMITIR.

A TRAGIC CHRISTMAS FOR US

TO THE  PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MEXICO
TO THE MEXICAN PEOPLE
TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY

We the civil society "Las Abejas" of  Chenalho, Chiapas, denounce the
violent acts which ocurred yesterday, the 22nd of December 1997, while we
were in prayer adoring and requesting to God that the problems we have been
suffering these past months in the municipality of Chenalho would calm down;
we are members of a civil society that seeks peace and tranquility for all.

We have always stood up against the use of  weapons. However, that day our
members were massacred  without pity at the hands of murderous "priistas".
What have we done to deserve that our women, our children and our men be
killed?  What have our children done that they deserve to be massacred with
high-power weapons?  We of the civil society "Las Abejas" demand the
imprisonment and a life-time sentence to all the assassins in this crime,
that the government doesn't turn a blind-eye and continue pronouncing that
there is no low-intensity war going on in Chiapas. We demand that the
appropiate authorities punish the intellectual authors of this crime. 

If the government is so afraid of losing power, it should try to maintains
it fairly; and not by spreading paramilitary groups and by forming death
squadrons to terrorize the people of the region.  If these killers  are so
eager for war, they should confront themselves with people who could at
least defend themselves.

We are members of a popular group that for five years now has named the
searched for peace and  justice the cause for our struggle as an organized
civil society. We will not use weapons, but they kill us with weapons.

We demand the subsitution of the follows persons as being directly or
indirectly involved as intellectual authors of this massacre: 

1. Julio Ceasar Ruiz Ferro, the current, imposed State Governor, for being
indirectly responsable of the massacre of innocent people in the state,
because he has not listened to our demands. We request that he be punished
and that he be put in jail, any other course of action would be
inconcievable with so many innocent people already dead in the North, in the
Highlands, and in the Coast -- all regions in the state of Chiapas.

2. Jacinto Arias Cruz, substituted Municipal Pesident of Chenalho, Chiapas
and his City Council, whose  activities include are transportation of
weapons, and who spend their efforts supporting and paying the paramilitary
"White Guard" police forces; therefore as residents of Chenalho, we demand
his removal  and punishment.

3. We as residents of Chenalho, demand that Uriel Jarquin, the Subsecretario
of the Government, be punished because he is responsable for directing the
police force that is killing us,  the Indigenas people.

4. That the Secretary of State, Homero Tovilla Cristiani, be put in jail
because is responsable for the  police who are training and supporting the
paramilitary forces.

And we demand punishment for the murderous "priistas" and "cardenistas" that
live in the communities of Los Chorros, La Esperanza, K=B4anolal and
Tzanembolom, Chimix, Acteal, and Colonia Puebla, all in the municipality of
Chenalho, Chiapas.

We denounce that in the community of  Los Chorros there exists a training
camp, where these assassins receive their orders to exterminate to the Civil
Society: men, women and children, who are sympathetic  to the EZLN and the
Autonomous Municipality of Polho.

WE ALL HAVE TO DEMAND JUSTICE NOW,  AT A LATER DATE IT WILL ONLY BE MORE
DIFFICULT. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WITH THE DEATH, POVERTY AND REPRESION!

PUNISHMENT FOR  JULIO CEASAR RUIZ FERRO, URIEL JARQUIN AND HOMERO TOVILLA
CRISTAINI! FOR THIS WE REQUEST EVERYBODY=B4S  SUPPORT; OTHERWISE, IT IS SIMPLY
A SCANDAL AND AN EMBARRASSMENT THAT IN MEXICO WE CONTINUE TO HAVE MURDERERS
AS OUR GOVERNMENT. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS SITUATION CAN NO LONGER BE PERMITED=2E
