hi monty,

                i just want to thank you for all your informative,
level-headed posts on Chiapas in response to R&D's document and R's
response. i learned a lot from your posts.  i think your approach to  this
discussion of the EZLN is essentially correct. i too am surprised at how
quick a number of people on this list were in supporting R&D's attack on
the EZLN given that they presented almost no factual evidence to back up
their criticisms. i found R's response to you , chris and jes really
dishonest in its characterization of their original document as NOT being a
an attack on the EZLN or the indigenous  movement.
          The one thing i would like to hear more about from you and other
zapatista solidarity  activists is in  what ways  do you think  we
n.american and european leftists can change our own practice as a result of
the experiences of the Chiapas revolt.  thanks again for all the info on
Chiapas, keep it coming.  bob brown
