If you accept Jerry Levy's wild charges at face value, then you are even
less of a human being than I thought you were. Anybody who has been around
the Internet for a while understands that these kinds of charges are
difficult to prove. Clearly, Levy is not interested in having a political
discussion but slinging mud.

Furthermore, if you want a more rounded assessment on my reputation, ask
Harry Cleaver. He has seen Levy running amok on PEN-L, where he was warned
by Michael Perelman to behave himself. Levy only starts flame-wars on lists
where he less respect for the participants, such as this one.

If you don't want to get implicated with the sort of nonsense that Reeves
peddles, then don't crosspost it. If you don't like the rough-and-tumble
world of the Internet, then stick with the clubby world of liberal
journalism where you don't have to answer to anybody except deep pocket
publishers, who have the nerve to tell Alex Cockburn to lay off Clinton.
