I don't mean to suggest either an elitist attitude or a sence that I know
everything there is to know about Gramsci, I don't. My idea was actualy meant
to expand the scope of the web page. If you're looking to make his ideas
accesible to the uninitiated, you can't possibly think that anyone who doesn't
know who Gramsci is will be interested in a page that discusses the praxis of
Gramsci in the Italian Communist party and his lasting contributions to blah,
blah, blah. This guy is hard to read. Many people ignore his writings because
to understand him you have to work your ass off. A populist reading of his
lasting contributions to theory, the realm where like it or not Gramsci dwells
now a days, would be usefull. I got interested in Gramsci after seeing his
name come up time and again in discussions of theory and cultural analysis.
Anyway, while I'd love to help with the web page and am prepared to do
anything I can, my understanding of Gramsci is limitted (but expanding every
day). By the by, an excellent bio of Gramsci and his relation to Italian
Communism can be found in Giuseppe Fiori's "Antonio Gramsci: Life of a
Revlutionary."
