I'm no expert on Malraux, but after his days in the 30's supporting
the Spanish Republic and WWII, he supported deGaulle. Was appointed
an Arts Minister or some such, in the late 60's. The Partisan
review set and the Committee for Cultural Freedom (liberal anti-Communists)
published his stuff after WWII. Michael Pugliese P.S. For more
on the CCCF see the book by Frances Stonor-Saunders on them and
the CIA. Doubt he was ever in the PCF.
