I worked in Nicaragua and am very familiar with Sandino's movement.
Although anarchism was a strong influence on both Sandino and the original
Zapatista movement, the more important influence was radical bourgeois
nationalism. Both Sandino and Zapata worked to establish alliances with the
more leftist wing of traditional bourgeois parties. Both were unsuccessful
in the long run.
