Lou you're an offensive arsehole who wouldn't know communism if you fell over it. I suggest that no-one here should even think about "debating" anything with you. Your whole language just screams RED FASCIST with everything you write. Fuck off.

Tahir:
Lou, you are fixated with what used to be known as 'actually existing
socialism' and Cuba is your token for this. I doubt whether you are going
to find anyone on this list who thinks there is such a thing as a
'socialist country' in the world.

RESPONSE: Of course not. This list is filled with anti-Communists. As soon
as I am finished with my critique of Hardt-Negri, I am out of here. I feel
suffocated already.

This is what you are really arguing about every time you purport to be
debating about this particular book (which I couldn't give a toss about by
the way). 'Successful Cuba' is not inspiring us - it's not qualitatively
different from other former 'socialist states' (for this oxymoron read
'state capitalist bureaucracies') and its chances of even surviving in its
present form indefinitely are slim, as everyone with eyes can see.

RESPONSE: I wouldn't expect Cuba to inspire middle-class people. It is,
however, an inspiration to people who do not know where their next meal is
coming from.

Tell us what a success is, because a lot of people find heroic failures
more inspiring and more of a pointer towards a future socialist world than
your so-called 'successes'. Why don't we debate about what is really
bugging you, which is about the FAILURES of Leninism and the criminal role
of this in discrediting marxism. What is socialism to you? Why are you
really here Lou? So far your polemics on this list have sounded like
nothing but a string of puerile insults. Are you scared of being exposed
through a real debate about socialism?

RESPONSE: I am here to critique Hardt-Negri. When I am finished, I will
unsub. I have no interest in debating socialism with anybody here, because
the discussion here is abstract bulshit divorced from the real lives of
real people. It reminds me of the theology I studied as an undergraduate in
1961-1965.
