In regards to this question, let me start by saying
that I, too, am a "recovering" Leninist :) So
disillusioned was I from my participation in a maoist
organization here in the USA, that I basically left
radical politics for a long time (15 years to be
exact) and have only recently decide to return to
political engagement.

With that kind of history behind me, I am very
cautious about "Vanguard" parties, so-called
democratic centralism, etc. This has drawn me to the
ideas of
"autonomia" and the like. However, there are a few
questions that I have that members of this list might
answer. My questions might seem boringly basic, but
if someone could help me, I would really appreciate
it.

(1) Ok, even if the definition of "worker" has been
expanded and we can expect spontaneous struggles
against capital that go beyond what Lenin called
"economism", how do you envision a transition to
post-capitalist society without some sort of
centralized command?

(2) What about the model of socialism as having a
planned, centralized economy? This would seem to
imply a large group of people working in managerial
positions. This in turn would seem to be conducive to
the development of bureaucracy and of a privileged
class that could restore state capitalism. What are
your thoughts on this?

(3) Has anybody considered the implications of
Chaos/Complexity theory on a socialist economic model?
Chaos theory would SEEM to suggest against an overly
strict command model.

If you could answer these questions and/or point me
towards readings, it would really help.

Thanks,

Thomas
