From: "Peter Jovanovic" <peterzoran-AT-hotmail.com> Subject: Re: AUT: Serbia Date: Wed, 04 Jul 2001 14:18:06 +1000 hi all regarding Workers Aid for Bosnia/Kosova here's a snippet from Organise the magazine of the (UK) Anarchist Federation: ------- In issue 217 of Black Flag a section entitled "No Easy Answers -Looking at the Balkans War" had as its core article a piece by a member of Workers Aid which stated that "The Kosova Albanians have the right to call for NATO action". What sort of message can this give to our comrades in Yugoslavia opposing the war? Workers Aid, in both their Workers Aid for Bosnia and subsequent Workers Aid for Kosova guises have always been clear about "taking sides", with a twisted notion of class solidarity which in practice only means calling for workers in Britain to support the Kosovar Albanians, whilst Serbian workers for the most part are lumped in with their "fascist" government. -------- the whole thing can be found at: http://burn.ucsd.edu/~acf/org/issue52/kosovo.html some good articles with a class as opposed to nationalist perspective on ex-yugoslavia can be found at: http://www.webcom.com/wildcat/Yugoslavia.html http://www.hrc.wmin.ac.uk/guest/radical/ESKOSOVO.HTM http://lists.village.virginia.edu/~spoons/aut_html/Aufheben/yugo.html there is also good stuff somewhere on the Left Disorder webiste at: http://real-huizen.dds.nl/~left-dis/ can't be more precise cos their server is not responding. pete _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --- from list aut-op-sy-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
