From: "Enda Brophy" <enda_b-AT-email.com> Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2001 23:24:03 +0800 Subject: AUT: Black Bloc attacks Cobas, Rete Lilliput Greetings all- haven’t properly introduced myself to the list yet – after Genoa ends I promise! I’ve been surveying the Italian dailies’ coverage of Genoa. There are more than a few reports coming out that the BB attacked other protest groups yesterday. Their actions were predictably condemned by Cobas and Rete Lilliput, as well as the Tute Bianche. The Cobas leader has gone on record as saying, with regards to the death of Carlo Giuliani, something to the effect of "They were looking for trouble." For those of you who read Italian, there are several articles that would be of interest: In the Messaggero, go to http://www.ilmessaggero.it/inde xmsgr.htm, then click "Nazionale" and "Primo Piano" for the following articles: -I "black block", anarchici pronti a tutto -Le Tute bianche: «Siamo caduti in trappola» In Il Manifesto, check out these articles: "La giornata delle tute nere" http://www.ilmanifesto.it/oggi/art 8.htm "Piazza Manin: pacifici e manganellati" http://www.ilmanifesto.it/oggi/art 14.htm I’ll summarize any of these articles if anyone desperately wants them. e. -- _______________________________________________ Talk More, Pay Less with Net2Phone Direct(R), up to 1500 minutes free! http://www.net2phone.com/cgi-bin/link.cgi?143 --- from list aut-op-sy-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
