Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 15:55:25 -0700 (PDT) From: Thomas Seay <entheogens-AT-yahoo.com> Subject: AUT: Time Magazine Blames Giuliani and Anarchists The July 30th edition of Time Magazine's article on Genoa reads this way: <<It is not too much to hope that the next time his [Carlo Giuliani] friends stoop to pick up a cobblestone, they will remember a lesson learned when plows first broke the Mesopotamian earth: You reap what you sow.>> Reading this article, I think that the ruling class is going to try to split off the reformist type groups from the rest of the movement by calling anarchists, etc violent. I think we will see something like the way the african-american movement was treated in this country...reformers, such as ML King were given an audience, while more revolutionary elements, such as Malcolm X, were treated in the press as fanatics and nuts...and suffered huge repression. I think we will see groups like Friends of the Earth, etc, welcomed with open-arms by the media and the rulers. This is what I imagine will happen. Anybody care to comment on this?
