the concept of the multitude is one that has been adopted by those in genoa, the gsf spokesman uses the term liberally - i assume he feels it has some wait and some relation  to 'real struggle'. if you want negri's analyses of 'real events' get hold of his journal posse (the latest double issue is on the city as space of control and biopolitical resistance and includes analyses of specific industries), negri's concrete analyses have always been carried out in a collective form through journals, as in the italian and french Futuro Anteriore and the current paris journal multitude, which springs directly from the journals negri set up.
