Subject: AUT: Introduction

I have been subscribed to this list for a few weeks now but I have not previously contributed. I guess its time I did.

I am a London based communist. Most of my practical activity is based around the "anti-capitalist" movement, which means working with people with different perspectives, particularly anarchists. I try to do so in a non-sectarian manner whilst retaining a critique of anarchism. I guess this is my main field of interest at present. I also belong to a small local class struggle group and attend a reading group.

In reading the discussions on this list I have encountered a number of difficulties. One is the sheer volume of contributions. I realise that Genoa was an exceptional event, but this was the case before Genoa and continues. In the last 24 hours I have had 28 e-mails. I do not have time to read them all, let alone contribute. A second related problem is that some people seem not to change the subject line and therefore it bears little resemblance to the actual content. I know other people have stopped subscribing for these reasons.

Moan over - many contributions are useful and thought provoking and hopefully I'll be able to engage with the discussions.
