I think it's important tho to grasp the actual positions involved before you lash out. I have to admit that I have been guilty of simplifying these problems myself, in my posts to this list about critical support. As it happens, I don't actually see the CWG's position as being really any different to Chris' - somehow they're trying to balance support for the defence of Afghanistan with condemnation of the Taleban. It's a tricky balancing act, and I don't pretend to know how to carry it off perfectly myself. I wonder whether the groups you excoriate really do hold to positions similar to the CWG's - certainly the ISO, America's biggest 'vanguard organisation', would not touch their line with a bargepole. Don't know about the Workers World party tho. One group the coalition I'm involved in here in Auckland - the Anti imperialist Coalition - does support is the Labour Party of Pakistan. This group held a demo in Lahore the other day which was both anti-US and anti-fundamentalist. They got 1,000 people and were stopped by the cops. We're looking at ways of giving them some sort of assistance in what is a very difficult situation.
