of course, an obvious problem here is that the
non-leftists you hang out with could eventually become
leftists thru your influence, while also becoming your
closest friends because of the time spent together...
then what? 

that's what happened to me, anyway. but i'm not
complaining... i have an incredible, full time
affinity group. a functioning proto-community that
lives communally (even tho we all live in different
houses, some of which are 1000s of miles away!). and
most of us are also really good at branching out and
meeting new people, etc. etc. 

as to the people i was in the demo with: they're not
all people i hang out with all the time. in fact, most
of them are people i only see at meetings, demos and
activist get-togethers (and thus see only once a week,
usually). ((my friends i see everyday (when they're in
town).)) and i think this helps too.

i keep thinking of bolo'bolo while writing this... i'm
sure everyone has read it... if ya haven't, check it
out.
