Either way, gangsta rap is fun to listen to.  But
besides that, I thought I heard of a truce between the
bloods and crips during the LA riots?  I'm pretty sure
there's a truce right now as well.  At a conferance a
few months ago there was a group called the Black
Riders Army that was there, they gave a workshop on
what they do and how they set up a truce between the
bloods and the crips etc etc etc.
Also, from what I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong)
most of the gangs in the LA area (and probably NY and
other places too) are basically controlled by 2 or 3
different mafia groups who use them to sell drugs,
which might explain why those with the biggest weapons
didn't fire 'em, as they were probably those at the
"top" of the gang ladder.  I don't think that the
"rank and file" gang members, so to speak, are all
that well armed.  I remember watching a documentary
where all a few of 'em had were .22 caliber pistols
and whatnot.  Any good info on gangs coming from a
marxist perspective?
