There are enough libertarian communist texts originated in the region and in Israel. It is easy to contact libertarian communist activists of the region. It smells as if the authors drew to their lungs Lambartists smoke while writing the text. I sent to the list first part of that article with notes remarking the most obvious inaccuracies.... but it seems no one was interested. a big miss > "Behind the 20st century Intifada" > > http://www.wildcat-www.de/en/material/aufh10b.htm > > --- Scott Hamilton <s_h_hamilton-AT-yahoo.com> wrote: > > > > There has been enough anti-anti-imperialist rhetoric > > on this list to fill the Marianna Trench. There was in the long years - at least since the establishment of the Libertarian Communist organization of Israel, (Matspen, 1962) the position that only (libertarian) social revolution in the whole region will be able to solve the conflict. > > Most of the left calls for one or another type of > > Palestinian state in the Holy land; the best parts > > of > > the left call for the destruction of Israel and the > > establishment of a secular Palestine in its place. It depends how you define "left". The real internationalist left have no such illusion. The real left knows and call for social revolution of the all region as the only viable solution. Sections of the PLO (and opportunist Trotskists and Maoists) are the ones that was of the destruction opinion in the past and are funs of the two state solution. (Surprise surprise, the more pragmatic of the naZionists are also promoting the two state solution... just not really equal ones in any sense. The separation between the West of the Jordan tinny region and Gaza strip from the Palestinian regions East side of the jordan was just one of the compromises of the PLO and other Palestinian organizations. > > What is the anti-anti-imperialist alternative to the > > call for the establishment of a Plaestinian state? The fact that a Palestinian mini state is on the way is clear. The fact that a capitalist (or more probably imperialist) peace is on the way - is not in question either. How stinking will be the solution and how much Israel will continue to dominate the tinny Palestinian statelet is still not clear. > > Political theory is useless unless it can > > sponsor some sort of political practice - where is > > the > > anti-anti-imperialist practice, in relation to > > Palestine? Where is the solidarity, and where are > > the > > demands? It is all over the world at least since 1962. Like the achievement of libertarian communism it is not achievable in completion within the capitalist system... but struggle and some victories can be achieved on the way. The call and struggle for the end of Israeli occupation of the 1967 occupied territories, the call and struggle for equal rights to the Palestinian citizens of Israel, the call and struggle for the rights of the Palestinian refugees - are the expression of this solidarity. You do not need a special Anti Anti Imperialist theory to draw from the proper elements. It just need common sense when applying the principles of Equality & Freedom & Solidarity. We did not had in the past or present any problem in drawing on the same lines support for the working people who are victims of murderous "nationalist" harassment in our region - the Palestinians, the Kurds (mainly) or the East Timorians and Serilanka Tamils, the "Catholics" in Northern Ireland, the ex-Yugoslavians (including Cosovo)... and the indigenous (first nations) in the other parts of the world.
