Scott

Michael Albert isn't a main participant, only fifteen people turned up
to his testimonial...I don't need to reconcile your categorisation of
ATTAC/albert/ WSF and others cause there are loads of other people
who support your position on Argentina...and I'll work and support them...

yes...support for the "left" government is ridiculous...I imagine this
support stems from ignorance of Argentinian politics rather than
the fact that the "main movers" at the WSF want "reformed" capitalism
!?!?!?!
or are in some way opposed to Argentinian workers movements...!?!?!?!

...the call for non-violence...I guess...stems from the view that the moment
you switch
the struggle to violence the state will have an excuse for further violence
and they
hold all the cards......I have no dogmatic take on non-violence though and
what
you said seems reasonable enough...but might it equally result in division /

escalation of violence...I have no idea about Argentina really so I'll shut
up
about it until I've a grasp of what is going on...

the other reality..."of course"...is that there are thousands of people at
the WSF
who will work to support the Argentinian workers...so carry on dismissing...
dismiss all the radical Bolivians who turned up, dismiss all the Mexican
workers who turned up...dismiss everybody under the umbrella of the main
movers are social democrats (which they patently aren't )

I'm gonna go to the Euro forum...and stick my oar in...with the benefit of
your critical insights and the experience of the Argentinian workers ringing
in my ears we can hopefully circumvent the watering down / exclusion
problems / funding
problems / by organising our events more effectively than these elements...

Just noted all the other responses...so I'll shut up...

Daniel,

you haven't really addressed the concrete points I
made and the critics of PA made. If your position is
correct, then you have to show us how the positions
and practice of the main participants in the WSF and
the Albert/Z Net/Attac wing of the anti-globalisation
movement can be reconciled with the positions and
practice of the Argentinean masses.

How can critical support for the proto-fascist
government of the 'left' Peronists be reconciled with
the demands of the Argentinean masses, as expressed in
the recent National Assembly of Workers and in
numerous Popular Assemblies, for the smashing of that
government and its replacement with a revolutionary
'workers' government'?

How can Albert's and Attac's call for non-violence
from the Argentineans be reconciled with the decision
of the Argentineans to arm themselves for self-defence
against the state violence which has claimed dozens of
lives?

How can the goal of a social democratic government
espoused by the organisers of the WSF be reconciled
with the response of the Argentinean masses to the
social democratic government of de la Rua last
December?

The reality, of course, is that there is no common
ground between the moving forces at the WSF and the
mass revolutionary movement in Argentina.
