Interesting. I do not really have time to reply right now.
I am in the middle of trying to finish something else.
But curiously enough members of the Cuban "communist"
party here has in the past never denied these "lies" in
private conversations. Nor has hardly any of the Leninist
I know (outside the fan-club) who have vistited Cuba
frequently, or other people I know who speak Spanish
fluently, and thus have got to see a bit more than
the show-pieces. I suspect the rosy picture of Fidel's
Cuba is more widespread on "the left" in the U.S.
than in Europe. That may be partially be because far
more Europeans have actually been there. Though as
I've already stated, there are far worse places to live.

My comment were never meant to be compehensive
analysis of Cuba. Nor am I prepared for that right now.
It would anyway be a waste of time trying something
like that in a “discussion" with Louis Proyect. He never
replies to what you write anyway, least at all when it
comes to those nasty realities of life (much of which
you can even find confirmation about on official Cuban
web-sites at times, if you can read Spanish, and are
willing to go to the to the "back pages" they do not expect
people to actually read). Louis P however prefers to
quote sermons of preachers. Also the Cuban mafia
is far from the only opposition against the régime.
