Actually, as I just told Wallach off-list, his books and articles are
first-rate. I have his book on museums right next to Serge Guilbaut's "How
NY stole the Idea of Modern Art" on my shelves at home. I had no idea that
the guy Wallach who's been throwing spitballs at me is that same Alan
Wallach until I went to the William and Mary website. My main complaint is
that he drags down the level of discussion about Cuba, an important topic.
He obviously has nothing of substance to say on the matter, so he should
butt out and at least leave somebody like Harald or commie00 to speak for
him. Although I am unimpressed with what they have been writing, it is at
least a sincere attempt to have a debate.
