1930s? That's far too modern! I guess I'll need to replace 'proletariat' 
with 'toiling masses' to get that 1860s feel I was hoping for.

Does anyone have a more substantial critique than Thomas, who I'm guessing 
must be pissed off I didn't use his preferred Negrian populist term of 
'multitude'?
