My suggestion for critiquing various Leninoids would not be to make a big
deal about the historical crimes of Bolshevism. I find the anarchist fetish
for Kronstadt quite boring. A better place to start would be with the
destructive antics of the Trots in contemporary struggles. For example their
attempts to water down the anti-summit protests so as to appeal to their
favoured constituency of union bureaucrats and liberal intellectuals such as
Naomi Klein and Susan George.

If Trots ever took power no doubt they would go for state capitalism but I
don't think this is a real possibility these days. BTW I've been reading the
recent pro-Situ manifesto/rant 'Two Hundred Pharaohs, Five Billion Slaves'
by Adrian Peacock recently. Peacock claims that the bourgeoisie is
developing anarchism as a new counter-revolutionary ideology now that
Leninism is a much less effective means of recuperation. That's stretching
things a bit but there is certainly a tendency within anarchism to believe
that the only way to be a revolutionary is to convert to anarchism. This is
most noticeable among the various platformist parties but also with the
Mao-oid wing of primitivism.

Any thoughts on '200 Pharaohs...' anyone?

cheers
peter
