The  'track record' has to count for a lot other wise
one ends up abandoning or short changing the scientific materialist 
method and in argumentation especially , the dialectic as well.

with the vanguardist party  history , this 'track record ' itself must be 
brought  to light , all of them,  stalinos, trots, maoists , bordighists,
even social democrats -- as there turned out to be no chinese wall
between the anti workers actions and theories of 2nd Int to the
3rd Int to the 4th Int. world trends.

so this record has to be studied and brought out to the masses 
, especially those on the political move,  as the vanguardists
are not going to do this for us!  Especially stuff like Bolsheviks
usurpations of workers councils and assemblies for  their Party state
monopoly, the Kronstadt episode, the Stalin world movement,
the trots  always 'critically'  tailing the Stalinists but  with 'military
but no political 
supports!!!" , all the 17 or so  state cap regimes of vanguardists from
Albanian
to Yugoslavian have/had  suppressed the workers and built state cap
regimes of class  repression , state organized waged slavery  and mammoth
bureaucratic  pus ruling over the workers.

the cdes are right to confront this sorry and criminal  track record &
to oppose the  present day state caps -- but just arguing that they 
have their views and we have ours seems a pretty small beer approach to me.
The approach must be dialecical  in methods -- not a unity of opposites at
all--
but unity  and STRUGGLE of opposites! 
Confront them  infornt of the masses themselves!
