The impression I have is that most people are uneasy with and vaguely opposed to going to war without UN backing or without evidence of a direct threat. Should either of those materialize, things will probably change. I think a lot of people here also realize that war will be expensive and wonder how it will be financed and if it's the best use of state funds given the much spoken of federal deficit, budget crises, and poor economy.
