Harald and everyone else,

I think one reason that certain posts take up such a large proportion of
the list at present is that others (starting with myself) have held back
on raising other matters.

In my case, it's largely a consequence of shifting into lurker mode over
the past year or so, partly as a conscious decision to post less and
listen more.

Maybe I need to rethink that. I have certainly missed (for example)
Thomas' posts - but he may have other reasons than me for being quieter
of late, and certainly I'm not suggesting that he (or others) 'explain'
their silence. I'm just trying to encourage all those other lurkers out
there to raise some new threads (or comment on past ones).

My main preoccupation in the real world has been the mood shift over
this looming war, where even one close relative of a traditionally Tory
bent are talking scathingly about 'US imperialism'. I *think* it bodes
well, although how it fits into the earlier mood here in Australia
around the Tampa crisis is still beyond my powers of explanation ...
