In Melbourne at least, I'm not sure the Labor party has any sort of apparatus to
deploy in that fashion, outside union cadre. But I didn't make tonight's march, so
maybe similar things happened there (although I gather people made it to the US
consulate at least, for what that's worth).

I've already fessed up to my own 'idiosyncratic and distorted impressions' of last
month's weekend of anti-war demos - I'm still trying to grapple with the much more
skeptical interpretations others offered of them (or at least of forces/currents
within them).

Any reactions on the streets or elsewhere that other list members care to report?
