I got interviewed by Italian Global Radio (which is following closely anti-war events here) this morning and mentioned that I thought that such a response was signifcant, seeing as it was in the Midwest (hope midwesterners dont take that as a slight!). The march really did get > away from the control of > both cops and the rally organizers, at a number of > points. Good, 'cause I know that Answer/WWP would love to get this thing under (their) control. Tomorrow there is going to be a rally and march...if Answer tries to take control and offer their usual menu of boring, repetitive, patronizing speakers, I suggest (if someone will help) that we take the stage and turn the event into a discussion of tactics. Who's with me? I respect comrades willingness > to go to jail and such, > but it wasn't my kind of thing. I am willing to go to jail, but I want to choose my battles. Seems like we should only try to put it on the line when necessary to close something down. And then we need to do it with the minimum number of people. How can we close down a place, not get arrested? Somebody want to answer that million dollar question? > (all of these last are very silly I think, other > than as tactical decisions) > and the worst was some statement about 'being > responsible for our actions'. > I'm going to work on a leaflet about this, as I feel > this demonstrates a > great loyalty to the state under the talk of > disobeying. I think a leaflet is a good idea, but these people sound (am I wrong) naive and dont need to be harshly criticized or jeered at. Perhaps initiating a discussion would be better (just sticking my nose into something I know nothing of..sorry, disregard if not pertinent). What do you think? > > I'd also quite like to hear more about San Francisco > - the 'no demo' turning > into a multiplicity of demos is very exciting, we I was not on the streets today...I will give a report back from tomorrow's activities.
